If the sea was made of oil, what sound would a seashell make?
Distilled liquid, hydrophobic with medicinal qualities that its use for various purposes makes a significant part of many different local cultures.
Kings were anointed with it, light was lit with its burning, paintings were created by the greatest and smallest artists using it throughout human history, vehicles run on it, our engines are lubricated by it, and it’s even a main ingredient of soap.
Oil is interwoven into our lives whether we like it or not,
unites us around individual and collective ceremonial points. In daily life, religion, and tradition.
Nowadays we overlook its manufacturing process and receive it ready to be used in various containers, the pressing process is hidden from us and remains faceless.
The shamanic ritual presented before you comes to celebrate the industrial ritual of oil production from an unexpected angle.
The deep shamans which contained deep frying oil and the not so distant past. Each
one of them contributed much for the stomach of our people, they shall not be forgotten, and their healing voices shall be heard.
